I have a handful of classics sitting amongst my unread books as well. Some of them are rather lengthly tomes which will probably cause them to linger on the shelf a little longer.

I’ve never really had a problem with the classics/suggested school books going unread (I’m a geek and love writing essays/novel responses) For me the main problem is popular fiction and mass market PBs – they are everywhere and so cheap
