Sunday Salon: Early Bird

Although I am posting now, in the afternoon, I got my Sunday Salon reading done earlier in the day. Much earlier, in fact. “Today”only in the most technical sense, actually.

I got home late last night, you see, having been out with friends to take in a play. And when I got home, I saw that my brother J was also come home (he having been on a school trip, you see). While in the States, J had bought yet another Terry Pratchett novel. I immediately demanded to read it first (since he hadn’t started, and because I read faster than he does, and because I’m like that) and gave him another one to read that I had already finished.

I know that it was his book. But we have a system, you see.

At any rate, I got his copy of Monstrous Regiment at around 11:30. And then I read it. All of it.

It only took four hours. (At an estimated speed of 1.6 pages/min).

So, at 3:30, I went to bed. Then I got up at 9, went to church, and now I think I’m going to eat food and then go to bed again.

Good times.

I’m just off to listen to a broadcast of a play from “Maurice and his Amazing Educated Rodents’, do you know it?

I’ve heard of it, but that’s all. We’re slowly working our way through the series — I think we’re up to 18 books of the 36 or so there are.

You are a crazy woman – did you finish E. George first?

  4. Christine says:

Nope, I finished it this afternoon. Before taking my nap.

  5. sounds like a great sunday!! haven’t heard of the book though.

I found you through Weekly Geeks – and staying up all night to read sounds like something I would do! (and have done!)

How wonderful to be able to read that fast! It always takes me several days to finish any book, even one I’m really interested in. Staying up all night reading does sound like something I’d do, too – but I know I shouldn’t encourage such behavior! Get some sleep!
