Hot dang, I’ve got me a new website.
If you’re coming from shereadsbooks.wordpress.com, you can easily click here to subscribe to shereadsbooks.org with an RSS reader, or click here to subscribe to shereadsbooks.org via email. Heck, you can do that even if you found me another way.
I have some exciting things planned here for the next few weeks. In the meantime, please take a look around, because I’d love to get your feedback. If there’s anything you particularly love, or particularly hate, or would like to see in the future, please let me know by leaving a comment on this post.
(One ongoing issue is that I haven’t got my blogroll separated into categories like it was before. That’s tomorrow’s task, I think. So you don’t need to mention that.)
Before I end this post I must publicly extend my thanks to my amazing and pseudonymous cousin, Mrs Micah. She provided incredible technical and moral support during the process of moving from a free blog to hosting my own domain. Mrs Micah blogs extensively about frugal living and debt reduction, works as a freelance web-designer / blog consultant (hire her!), and is all-around one of my favourite people ever. Thanks, dollface!!
And for the rest of you — I’m glad to see you here!
dude nice site. Did you move for any particular reason besides getting your own website address thingy? (Domain name. You know what I mean)
Love your new digs, glad to see you got it up and running.
I haven’t had time to look around too much, but so far I love the theme and the headers (the fact that they change and the images I’ve seen).
glum — I wanted to have my own domain as sort of a legitifying thing in terms of doing reviews and such… and also because it’s fun. And this way I have a whole lot more control over my site design and contents, because the free wordpress.com blogs have some significant limitations when it comes to themes, plugins, etc.
Ann — I love that the headers change too! Now it becomes a task not to spend my whole evening cropping photos with the GIMP…
Congrats on the website! Self-hosting is a little daunting but so much fun! I’ve updated my links and subscription, so I’ll be checking in frequently!
(I LOVE this theme.)
Great looking new site. I will keep updated through the new bloglines feed.
Oh yay, I made the favorite people list!
And your new site is just smashing, glad I could help you out.
LOVE the new digs. It’s clean, easy to navigate, pleasing to the eye…you get my approval.
I’m totally jealous because I want to self-host too, but alas, it won’t happen for a while.
