My cat shouts back at you. Not to be picky because I so approve the list, but don't forget "Words of My Roaring" by...Robert Kroetsch (yes, google helped). So funny, this.

I didn't realize some of them were Canadian. One of the greatest pleasures when my husband goes to Canada each September is knowing he's going to bring me back a Canadian book. I usually have never heard of the author.

This year I have fallen in love with the book Dooley Takes the Fall and its writer, Canadian children's/teen mystery writer Norah McClintock. I can't wait for the second Dooley book to be released.

Great list, although it could go on and on.... I also like Atwood's "Alias Grace" best; Pierre Berton's "The Arctic Grail" is a great read for exploration aficionados; and Sinclair Ross...ha ha! I so agree.

Other favourites of mine: Alice Munro, David Helwig, Diane Schoemperlen, Ethel Wilson, Frances Itani, Emily Carr, and of course LM Montgomery! I could go on for pages...

I really should read more Canadian lit, but the only author I could think of was Margaret Atwood. Thanks for the list!

*rolls on the floor laughing and then pees herself a little*

I mock CanLit harder than anyone I know, because SO MUCH OF IT IS BAD (you know I'm right), but we have got some hidden gold and I would make out with Ann-Marie MacDonald in the face.

Also, ROBERT MUNSCH I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES!!!!!!!!!1
